Take a new approach to your education. A new diploma is being introduced that will make the link between education, employment, IT and Business in a dynamic and exciting environment.

The new diploma is an alternative to traditional GCSEs and A levels in ICT and Business. It aims to give young people an insight into work and provide the skills, knowledge and understanding they need for further or higher education and employment.

Young people with a diploma will have a fully-rounded education, they will have reached the required standard in Maths, English, ICT, personal development skills and business and work-related learning, all delivered through a curriculum that combines classroom study with learning by doing it in a practical environment.

The new diploma in IT has been developed nationally in collaboration with employers and universities to ensure its relevance. It offers at least 10 days work experience. Priority is also given to developing students’ ability to work independently. Based on the integrated themes of business, people and technology, the diploma develops the knowledge, understanding and skills young people need to be successful in tomorrow's world

The new diploma in IT offers the kind of learning that will give students the knowledge, skills and attitude they need to succeed not just in education, but in life and work. It’s a combination that will prove very attractive to employers.

Students can join the diplomas at three different levels.

    * Level 1 is equivalent to four GCSE passes at grade C to G

    * Level 2 to four GCSE passes at grade A*-C;

    * Level 3 equivalent to three A levels.

In order to compete in the global economy, UK companies urgently need more young people who understand technology in business. The Diploma represents a significant step in this direction. The content and delivery of the Diploma will help to develop young people both for demanding university courses and rewarding, flexible careers.

Students can be based in home school, but still need to travel to other institution for part of the Diploma.
